Mission Statement

The human species is causing devastation to a planet that it shares with a vast, but declining, number of other life forms. There is an ethical imperative to modify our impact as a species to a level that is compatible with the continued vitality of the planet’s interlinked ecosystems and that permits their recovery. This can be done by rejecting an anthropocentric viewpoint in favour of a web-of-life perspective: humans are part of this web of life, not separate from it, and so if immediate human interests clash with ecosystem interests the latter must be given priority.
